5 Must-Reads if You’re Changing Careers

Considering a career change? Developing your side hustle? Then you’re going to need to do some reading. These five books are must-reads if you’re changing careers or starting your own business.

Whether you have no idea where to start, know exactly what you want to do, or like most people, you fall somewhere in between, these books will provide you with the resources and inspiration you need to discover your path and take action.

1. Quitter by Jon Acuff

Contrary to what you may think by the title, this book will not automatically tell you to quit your job. (Sorry!) Rather, Quitter helps you objectively evaluate where you are and sheds light on creative ways to map your path to where you want to be…and perhaps quitting. The best part of the book? It’s funny! You’ll appreciate the humor and sarcasm Acuff brings to a subject that is not inherently humorous.

2. Start by Jon Acuff

A follow up to Quitter, Start will inspire you to do just that – start. The subtitle is: Punch Fear in the Face, Escape Average, Do Work Matters. Don’t we all want to do that?! Just like in Quitter, Acuff will make you laugh while he encourages and inspires you to take action.
